It is still the beginning of the year and you know what that means? Sample season. The beginning of the year is such a great time to create some fresh samples. To help the creative juices to flow we have put together 5 fresh ideas for your next sample album.

1. Use a design from the wedding as a deboss for the cover.

Nowadays couples getting married want their weddings to have individuality, so why shouldn't that carry over to their albums? Create something that is very personalized and customized to them. Get to know your brides and grooms so that you can create something that is uniquely them.

TIP: A custom deboss is a great way to personalize a design. Try using pre-designed elements or elements from your clients invitations. If you want to design your own, Google "cricut designs", you will find a ton of design elements on the cheap. You can find some really popular pre-designed templates like these from our friend Jai Long.

2. Panovistas

This format may not be your first choice when thinking about providing a book for your clients, but if you have someone that is looking for something uniquely different, this may be the book for them. While participating in wedding expos/shows you are going to be around other photographers and their products, be sure to display something that is going to be a total show stopper. Make those brides and grooms remember who you are with a Panovista! Provide offerings that have a wow factor and will make you stand out!

3. Re-imagine Photo Covers

Our number three idea is not something new, we have had this from the very beginning. Photo covers have become less popular because of all the amazing materials we now offer. But putting a modern spin on photo covers can definitely make an impactful design. One thing that can make photo covers look dated is portraits on the cover, so instead, try using an element from the wedding day. Floral elements from the wedding day make fresh modern looking photo covers. It will make you rethink what you shot from the wedding day that was an element that would make a stunning cover.

4. Try something soft

Stimulate the sense of touch by using velvet or nubuck leather. If you are providing something that feels and looks luxurious it will add to an unforgettable first impression. If you have not gotten your hands on swatches or a sample of nubuck or velvet, don't miss out!

5. Can't decide?

Can't decide between between a photo cover or material? How about both? With our Messenger, cameo, 3/4 binding, and photo strip options you can have the best of both worlds with a photo and material option for the cover.

Sample albums give you the opportunity to showcase your best work. They also make albums seem commonplace and like every one is ordering them (so why wouldn't they?). Make a tangible piece of art a reality for your clients by showing that you promote the power of print.
